SUCCEEd Spring/2015

We had a very SUCCEEd quarter in the Fall and we are looking forward to another great SUCCEEd quarter in the Spring/2015. The goal of SUCCEEd is to use innovative pedagogical practices to promote success of sophomore-year engineering students at CSULA. A group of faculty from civil, mechanical and electrical engineering have been working hard for three years on securing a grant from National Science Foundation (NSF) and developing an exciting program that contextualizes the content between courses in the program and to practical engineering applications. The main objective of the program is to help students gain a better understanding of difficult concepts in engineering. Some of the features and advantages of the program include:

  • Contextualized course content (related course material) between courses will reinforce student learning
  • Exclusive access to SUCCEEd special section courses (registration through permit) for SUCCEEd students only (guaranteed access to 9 units)
  • Spring/2015 Courses
    • Numerical Methods II
    • Strength of Materials
    • Strength of Materials Lab
    • Statistics and Probability
  • Support from SUCCEEd faculty and student mentors and from SUCCEEd family throughout graduation
  • Networking and support from SUCCEEd peers. Same group of students in all SUCCEEd courses.
